Two inventions helped transform humanity: Airplanes and Canoes
The Canoe changed how goods were transported hundreds of years ago. A versatile mode of transportation used predominantly by Indigenous peoples, the canoe could go where larger boats and ships couldn't. It was durable, effective and most of all, "elegantly efficient."
Airplanes took durability and efficiency to another level, enabling us to fly to remote areas, deliver significantly larger amounts of cargo and decreasing travel time from months to hours.
"Sky Canoe" uniquely combines two pioneering modes of transportation that will benefit both humanity and the environment now and for many generations to come.
Inspiration For Our Logo
Sky Canoe and NNLP are committed to providing opportunities for MSIFN members to play a significant role in our businesses.
When Sky Canoe set out to update our logo, in part to reflect MSIFN's investment in the company, we wanted input on how best to represent this story. Accordingly, we held a logo design contest specifically for the many talented members of MSIFN.
This is just the first of many opportunities planned for not only MSIFN artists, but all MSIFN members to participate in Sky Canoe's growth. Indigenous artist Jon Colwell says designing the winning entry of the Sky Canoe Logo was one of the toughest projects he's ever worked on. Colwell says "in the end it was about getting it right and keeping it simple. No deep metaphor, just tying the history of travelling to remote areas by canoe with Sky Canoe's cutting edge first Command Directed light cargo aircraft."
